What is a domed sticker?

A domed sticker is a printed vinyl sticker with a layer of clear resin poured on top. The resin settles into a smooth, raised dome and sets hard but slightly flexible. The result looks like a glossy, three dimensional badge, and it feels it too.

Domed, resin, gel or epoxy: what's the difference?

Mostly just the name. You'll see domed stickers called domed labels, resin stickers, gel stickers, epoxy stickers, 3D stickers and doming stickers. They all describe the same idea: a printed sticker with a clear raised coating.

How are domed stickers made?

1. Print. Your design is printed in full colour on to adhesive gloss vinyl. We use UV inks.
2. Cut. Each sticker is cut to shape: circle, square, rounded rectangle or oval, with custom shapes on request.
3. Dome. Clear resin is applied to each sticker and its surface tension holds it in a dome right to the edge.
4. Cure. The resin is left to cure until it's hard, clear and ready to peel.

What are domed stickers used for?

• Product labels on bottles, jars, candles, cosmetics and gift boxes
• Equipment and machinery branding, so your name stays on what you've installed or serviced
• Logo badges on tools, laptops, phone cases and merchandise
• Promotional giveaways, such as branded keyrings and radiator keys with a domed logo

Why choose a domed sticker over a flat one?

The dome makes colours look richer and gives a premium, tactile finish that people notice. It also shields the print underneath from everyday scuffs and handling. For a budget option or very large quantities, flat vinyl stickers are a good alternative.

Design tips

• Bold, simple logos and large text work best. Very fine lines can look softer under the dome.
• Leave a little space between your design and the edge, as the dome curves down at the sides.
